With the forming of this entity, we are providing 35 years of construction service to you on any design/build, general construction, specialized retail, and built-to-suit development. Combining KZ Companies knowledge and expertise as a full-service development company with the General Building and Construction/Project Management experience of Miller Construction, we can provide a turnkey solution for your project. With the combined experience of KZ Companies and Miller Construction, you can count on your project to start & finish on time and on budget.

How Miller Construction Started

At the inception of Miller Construction Management, the Millers started with residential remodels, although this was not the field they wanted to specialize on. Early on they knew they would need to be specific with the work accepted in order to maintain the reputation they had created. The Millers decided that the niche they wanted to fill was commercial retail construction. Throughout this period, the Millers began forming a team that they would come to think of as their extended family. Because of their family mentality with their employees and subcontractors, MCM became extremely competitive in the retail construction field and would eventually start working with Minute Lube. Shortly after establishing their business relationship, Minute Lube asked MCM to move to California. At this point, Marty and Renet decided to sell everything they had in Idaho and move the business to California while bringing five employees with them.
In California, MCM started making a name for themselves in the retail construction market and would begin working for several large retail companies. Several years after moving to California, MCM would start working with KZ DevCo and establishing connections with Mark Zimmerman and Pat Cowan. Over the years, Miller Construction Management and KZ DevCo worked on several projects with great success which led to Mark and Pat offering a business partnership to Marty & Renet. After two years of discussion and planning, an agreement was made and KZ Miller Construction was formed as a full service general contracting company specializing in formulaic build-to-suit retail construction.
