HONOLULU, HAWAII – KZ Companies a full service commercial real estate development firm specializing in shopping center development, completed construction of a 20,114 SF freestanding Long’s Drugs on behalf of CVS/pharmacy. KZ assembled over an acre and a half of land located at 1030 King Street in Honolulu, Hawaii to construct this project. Budgeted project costs were in excess of $25 million dollars, making this one of the most expensive Long’s projects to date.
The site is situated in the neighborhood of Makiki, one of the busiest neighborhoods in Honolulu and is expected to service a trade area consisting of more than 50,000 residents. Within a few blocks of the site are numerous high rise residential towers, several major medical centers, medical office buildings, the Neal Blaisdel Center, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. The project broke ground in the second half of 2013 and is expected to be open for business in June of 2014.
